![]() ![]() Oh, and since her Elder Scroll and knowledge and blood were what the prophecy required (Harkon having clearly proven incapable of finding Valerica after all this time on his own), it would have been smarter to kill her off. Boo hoo your mommy and daddy sacrificed 1000 innocents to gain power and orphaned countless children over the years, but yeah, let's talk about YOUR feelings, lady. It's not even a discussion it'd be one thing if she at least acknowledged it but, nah, she's just totally fine with raising the dead and her family kidnapping and murdering innocents-she's just sad that mommy and daddy broke up. She doesn't even seem sad when we walk through the Undercroft, full of literally thousands of mortal skeletons, and she never hesitates to use necromancy. She seems proud of her vampirism, never really apologizing for it, and even seems derisive of "vampire hunting," despite knowing full well that "mortal hunting" is a common vampire activity. Oh no! And while we never see her take a bite out of anyone, there's no reason to think she didn't spend centuries sucking the life out of dinner-slaves before the "divorce" (please correct me if I missed a line of dialogue somewhere). Serana is presented as nice and all, but seems to agree with her mom that Harkon must be stopped because his actions might cause vampires to get hunted down. Dawnguard is one of the most poorly written things I've ever seen it's a mess. Honestly, though, I find it hard to care. I guess as a Nord, she's inclined towards Sovngarde, but after many, many centuries as a vampire, who can say? We really don't know the mechanics of who gets what soul very well. Curing her and giving her a chance to save her soul from that fate outweighs the reduction of her time on Tamriel. Is making a vampire mortal even curing at all, or more like giving her a disease of decay and eventual death? Vampires are Undead, their souls doomed to Molag Bal.
